Featherless is a subscription host for open Hugging Face models, running them itself. For a huge open and uncensored catalogue at a predictable monthly price it is the better tool. Redline is pay-as-you-go, adds closed frontier models, and caps hard.

Where Featherless is the better choice
- Catalogue for open and uncensored models: tens of thousands of Hugging Face models including hundreds of abliterated and uncensored variants, versus Redline’s 7 uncensored and 0 abliterated. Featherless hosts them itself, so no third-party router sees the prompt.
- Predictable cost for heavy use: $25/month flat with unlimited tokens for human chat, and Developer per-token rates with no gateway markup and credits that never expire.
Where Redline is different
- No subscription on Redline: a $10 top-up, pay per token, plus closed frontier models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google via OpenRouter) that Featherless does not host. Redline’s keys can also be built into apps, which the Featherless Chat plan forbids.
- Redline has per-key lifetime and monthly dollar caps with worst-case reservation and signed receipts; Featherless has org-level balance blocking and concurrency limits only.
Worth knowing Featherless currently lists "Reselling access: No" on its Chat and Developer plans, so Redline serving Featherless models on a public page needs a Business contract or written permission first. Until that exists, Featherless is a comparison, not a live upstream.
