Redline vs Venice API

Venice is a privacy-first, uncensored API with genuine privacy engineering for some of its models. For the strongest privacy guarantees it is ahead of Redline; on price and breadth of standard models Redline is ahead.

Facts checked September 2026 against Venice API’s own site, docs and policies.

RedlineVenice API

Prompt retentionNo prompt or completion stored; model, tokens and cost kept 90 days; signed prompt-hash receiptPrivate mode enforced by contract (no prompt/response stored); TEE with remote attestation and client-side E2EE on some models
Per-key spend capsLifetime and monthly per-key caps, enforced by reserving the worst case and clamping max_tokensPer-key USD (and DIEM) caps with day/month/lifetime windows and a per-key private-models-only switch; in-flight enforcement not documented

Where Venice API is the better choice

  • Real privacy engineering on some models: its own or partner ZDR hosting, TEE with remote attestation, and end-to-end encryption where the prompt is encrypted on your device. Redline’s prompts pass through Redline, OpenRouter and a third-party host.
  • More uncensored options plus media (image, video, music, TTS), DIEM staking for a fixed daily allowance, and a per-key "private models only" switch.

Where Redline is different

  • Price and breadth on standard models: 440+ OpenRouter models at a flat +15% versus 118 text models on Venice at roughly +20% to +58% over OpenRouter list, with no subscription or token staking needed.
  • Redline reserves the worst case and clamps max_tokens so a cap cannot be overrun, and signs a prompt-hash receipt. It does not match Venice’s TEE or E2EE guarantees.
